Poncafest 5K Run & 5K Fun Run
The Poncafest 5K events take place on August 1, 2026 at the Buffalo Outdoor Center store on Highway 43 in Ponca, AR. The weekend marks Buffalo Outdoor Center’s 50th year of serving visitors to the Buffalo National River.

The competitive 5K is an official timed race that follows a scenic route south on Highway 43 from the Buffalo Outdoor Center, includes one small hill, and returns toward the finish. Entry for the competitive race is $40 and includes official timed-race entry, a premium Poncafest tri-blend t-shirt, and eligibility for awards and recognition.
The non-competitive 5K Fun Run is aimed at walkers, families, and casual participants; registrants with children in strollers are welcome. Entry for the Fun Run is $30 and also includes a premium tri-blend t-shirt.
All registered participants receive a premium Poncafest 5K tri-blend t-shirt available in sizes XS through XXL; these shirts have a more athletic fit and participants may prefer to size up. Register by midnight on July 15 to guarantee a t-shirt. Same-day registration opens at 6:45 AM at Buffalo Outdoor Center and is available until 7:15 AM, though t-shirt availability is not guaranteed. Medals are awarded in male and female age groups: 1-12yrs, 13-19yrs, 20-29yrs, 30-39yrs, 40-49yrs, 50-59yrs, 60-69yrs, and 70yrs+.
