Bob Lauterbach Memorial Columbus Downtown Runaround
This two-day running event takes place in Columbus, NE, with activities on Friday at Lake Esther (starting location by the shelter) and Saturday centered at Glurs Tavern, 2301 11th Street, Columbus. The program includes a youth run and two road race distances.
- Junior Runaround (ages 12 and under)

- 5 mile
Junior entries are accepted at the race with no entry fee and an age limit of 12 or under. The 2.1 mile and 5 mile races require advance registration; absolutely no race day entries are allowed for those distances. Registration fees and deadlines vary by date. All entrants receive a event T-shirt; the shirt deadline is July 14. Late registration may not guarantee a shirt.
The course was adjusted because of bridge construction and will not be USATF certified; organizers state the distance will be maintained as closely as possible but the course is not eligible for official record purposes. Packet pickup is available at the Y on the Friday before the race and at the start line on race morning. Race numbers must be visibly displayed before and during the race or the participant will be required to leave.
Prizes include top overall male and female awards, age group awards, masters categories, a Corporate Cup for the business with the most finishers, alumni awards for local high schools, door prize drawings, and other participant benefits. Race times are not recorded after one hour. Race bibs become non transferable and non refundable after the Friday packet deadline. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
