About the race
The BMW BERLIN-MARATHON is an international marathon event in Berlin. The race programme includes several routes and competitions and the marathon course is described as the flattest of the Abbott World Marathon Majors. GPX files and an interactive map are available for the routes.
Distances and related events:
- Marathon: 42.195 km
- GENERALI 5K: 5 km, covers the final 5 kilometres of the marathon course, start area at Potsdamer Platz
- Youth race: 4.2 km
- Inlineskating: marathon distance and other skating routes
- mini-marathon and kids events: Bambini and youth offers
On-course services include a sequence of drink and nutrition stations. Water is provided at 5, 12, 17.5, 22.5, 27.5, 32.5, 34.5, 38 and 40 km. Water, fruit, tea and Maurten Drink Mix 160 are available at 9, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 36 km. Maurten Gel 100 is handed out at 27.5 km. All drinks are served in cups and refill points are located at the last table of each water station; own hydration systems can be refilled at these stations. Refill stations by the hydration partner are marked.
Eigenverpflegung (personal nutrition) may be delivered for specific supply points and must be clearly labelled with name, start number and the intended station. The event is organised by SCC EVENTS and lists partners including BMW, adidas, Abbott, BRITA, Maurten, VILSA, ERDINGER Alkoholfrei and NORQAIN.
