52. BMW Berlin-Marathon 2026
The BMW Berlin-Marathon is an international sporting event held in the German capital. It is recognized as one of the largest marathons in the world and is part of the Abbott World Marathon Majors. The course is noted for being the flattest among the major marathons, making it a venue for numerous records.
Alongside the main marathon distance, the event weekend includes various other competitions and categories:
- Marathon (42.195 km)
- Inlineskating (Marathon distance)
- Generali 5K (Final 5 km of the marathon route)
- Mini-Marathon (4.2 km for youth)
- Bambini-Run
- Handcyclists and Wheelchair athletes
The course features extensive infrastructure for participants. Refreshment stations are located at regular intervals providing water, fruit, tea, and specialized sports nutrition like hydrogel products. Specific refill stations for personal hydration systems are available to reduce single-use plastic. Participants can also submit personal nutrition to be placed at designated points along the route.
The event is accompanied by the Marathon Expo and a supporting program. Registration for the main run is typically handled through a lottery system, though guaranteed starting spots are available via official charity partners, specialized tour operators, or participation in SCC Events training camps.
