BMW Berlin-Marathon 2026
The BMW Berlin-Marathon is established as one of the largest marathons in the world and is part of the Abbott World Marathon Majors. Known for its flat topography with very few elevation changes, the course is recognized as the flatest among the major global marathons. The route takes participants past various sights of the German capital, finishing behind the Brandenburger Tor.
There are several athletic disciplines and distances offered:
- 42.195 km (Marathon) for runners
- 42.195 km for inlineskaters
- 5 km (Generali 5K) covering the last part of the marathon route
- 4.2 km (mini-Marathon) for youth
- Bambini-Lauf for small children
- Courses for wheelchair athletes and handbikers
The organization provides 15 refreshment stations along the marathon route. Water is available at intervals starting from 5 km, while certain stations also offer fruit, tea, and specialized hydrogel sports fuel. Participants have the option to submit their own personal nutrition at specific points. The event is supported by a large EXPO and an extensive supporting program throughout the marathon weekend.
