Blue Whale Run - Catoosa, OK
The Blue Whale Run is scheduled for May 30, 2026, in Catoosa, Oklahoma, and takes place on the original Route 66 road as part of the Blue Whale Park re-opening and the Route 66 centennial activities. The event offers both walking and running options and uses a certified 5K course.

All 5K finishers receive a medal, and one mile participants receive a medal as well. Shirts are available on a first come first serve basis. Awards include standard five year age group prizes, top three overall male and female awards, and team awards for the fastest team (combined times of three fastest members) and for the team with the most participants. A virtual participation option is available for those who cannot attend in person. Proceeds from the race are designated to support the Blue Whale.
Packet pickup is available on the Friday before the race at the Catoosa Chamber of Commerce, 1801 N. Highway 66, Catoosa, OK 74015, and there is race day packet pickup at the Blue Whale race site. Parking plans for race day are listed as to be determined. The City of Catoosa owns and operates the park and began renovation work in summer 2025.
The Blue Whale structure dates from 1972, measures about 20 feet tall and 80 feet long, and remains a local landmark. Swimming in the pond is no longer allowed; picnic areas, fishing, turtle feeding, and restroom facilities are available. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
