Blossom Time Run
The Blossom Time Run is an annual athletic event held in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, during Memorial Day Weekend. The event takes place alongside local festivities including a carnival, parade, food festival, and a hot air balloon rally. Participants navigate a course through the Chagrin Valley, starting on Main Street in front of the historic Popcorn Shop. For the 5.25 Mile Run, the course includes water stops at miles 2, 3, and 4, with mile markers providing splits throughout the route. Due to local bridge construction, the course distance for the main run may be adjusted.
The event offers several participation options:
- 5.25 Mile Run featuring chip timing and live results.
- 1 Mile Fitness Walk for those preferring a shorter distance.
- Kiddie Run of approximately 50 yards for children aged 8 and younger.
The 5.25 Mile Run is a timed competition with awards presented to the top five men and women overall, as well as the top three finishers in various age categories ranging from 9 and under to 70 and over. Special recognition is also given to the first male and female residents of Chagrin Valley to finish. Cash prizes are available for participants who set new male or female course records.
Registered participants receive a race t-shirt while supplies last and have access to post-race refreshments. Race day operations include police protection and medical assistance. Registration proceeds are donated by the organizers to local charities and community projects. While strollers are permitted on the course, dogs are not allowed.
