Blakedown Bolt
The Blakedown Bolt is an off-road running event held in the West Midlands. The course covers a distance of 10 km and takes participants through a variety of terrains, including fields, woods, and established paths. The route features several physical characteristics such as hills, stiles, pinch points, and a water crossing.
The race starts and finishes at the Blakedown Sports Field, located off Birmingham Road. Due to the nature of the terrain and the specific obstacles along the course, the event focuses on the varied landscape rather than speed. Participants must be at least 16 years old on the day of the race to compete.
Post-race facilities include a barbecue and a bar located at the finish area. The event typically reaches its entry capacity by early spring. Registration changes and transfers are permitted online until the start of June without additional fees. Transfers are also possible on the day of the race for a fixed supplementary charge. The event operates under a UK Athletics license. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
