Blackstairs Loop

Blackstairs Loop is a mountain running event in County Wexford held on Sunday 30th August 2026. The route covers 14.30 km with approximately 1000 m of climb. The route is not marked and GPS devices are not allowed. Runners must visit peaks in the correct order.

The course starts at the top of Counogue Lane (T813 474) and passes Slievebawn (T815 430), Carrigoulahan (T789 427) and Blackstairs Mountain (T800 448). The event carries an event difficulty rating of 3.

Entry fees are listed as €7 for seniors and €5 for over 65s and under 18s. Entries open on Monday 24th August 2026 and close on Saturday 29th August 2026. The organiser notes a maximum of 250 places; current entries are shown as 0 of 250.

Mandatory kit is Level B Standard and includes a waterproof jacket, hat or buff, gloves, a whistle, a charged mobile phone with the emergency number stored, and a foil blanket or bivvy bag or equivalent. Runners should also have the means to carry this kit. The final list of items to be carried on race day may be adjusted and will be advised at Registration. Failure to have required items may lead to denial of entry or disqualification and random kit checks may be carried out.
