BLACK GOLD BRUTE OBSTACLE COURSE RACE 2026 : Drayton Valley, Alberta
The event returns for its fourth year in Drayton Valley, Alberta, at 5737 45 Ave. It is a loop-style obstacle course race: each loop measures 4.33 km and participants may complete multiple loops depending on the chosen heat.
Several heat types and rules are offered. The Competitive Heat requires three loops and completion of all obstacles; the fastest three men and women receive prizes and the first man and woman earn free entry to the next year. The Savage and Barbaric levels require six and ten loops respectively to be finished within a six-hour time limit; the Savage level adds a "Roll The Dice" mechanic at obstacle stations after the third loop. Open Heats allow up to three loops with no penalties for failed obstacles. The Team Heat is for teams of five; at least one team member must complete every obstacle and teams face specific team challenges.
