Event Details

The Black Fly Blitz 5K is an 18th annual run and walk event held on Memorial Day (Monday, May 25). The race takes place in Wilmot, New Hampshire, with the start and finish located near the Town Green.

Race Course

The event features a single 5K (3.1-mile) distance. The course is a clockwise loop around Wilmot Flat. It starts on Village Road and continues along Shindagan, Cross Hill, and Campground Roads before finishing near the Town Green. The route is described as relatively flat with gentle rolling terrain.

Registration and Fees

Online registration is open until 5:00 p.m. on the Saturday before the race. For participants aged 12 and up, the fee is $25 until that deadline, with an increase of $5 for race-day registration. Registration is free for children 11 and under. Through April 30, a commemorative event t-shirt can be purchased for $15. Check-in and race-day registration begin at 7:30 a.m. under a tent on the Town Green at the intersection of Kearsarge Valley Road and Village Road.

Post-Race and Awards

After the race, free beverages and snacks are provided. An awards ceremony is held at the Wilmot Bandstand on the Town Green. Special prizes are given to the first overall male and female finishers, and medals are awarded to the top three finishers in each age group. Dogs are not permitted at the event.

Community Impact
