Black Country Triathletes Sprint Triathlon : Wombourne Leisure Centre
This event takes place on 25 April 2027 at Wombourne Leisure Centre, Ounsdale Road, Wombourne, Wolverhampton, West Midlands WV5 8BJ. The race format is a sprint triathlon with the following legs:
- 400 m swim
- 20 km bike
- 5 km run
Youth entrants must be 15 by 31 December in the year of the event. The course is described as fast and mildly undulating, with a well tested bike route and a trail-based off road run. The venue offers facilities used by the organisers.
The race fee includes a free novice triathlon training session held at the race venue in March; entrants will be contacted after entry with full details. The training covers venue layout, basic equipment guidance, a transition demonstration including how to mount and dismount a bike and arrange race kit, and a short pool swim technique segment covering front crawl or breaststroke. Coaching is provided by the club's level one and two coaches.
Non-Home Nation members require a British Triathlon Race Pass to compete. Race Pass costs quoted are £2.00 plus £0.08 service charge for those aged 24 and under, and £8.00 plus £0.32 service charge otherwise.
