Black Country Triathletes Sprint Triathlon
Black Country Triathletes stages a sprint triathlon at Wombourne Leisure Centre in Wombourne, Wolverhampton, West Midlands (WV5 8BJ) on 25 to 26 April 2027. The event offers multiple entry categories, including individual sprint, relay, aquabike and aquathlon.
Distances for the sprint format:
- 400 m swim
- 20 km bike
- 5 km run
The course is described as mildly undulating and includes a trail based off road run. The venue provides leisure centre facilities. Youth entrants must be 15 by 31 December in the year of the event.
The race fee for the sprint includes a free novice triathlon training session held at the race venue in March before the event. The session is coached by the club's level one and two coaches and covers the race venue layout, basic equipment guidance, a transition demonstration including bike mount and dismount practice, and a short pool swim technique element for front crawl or breaststroke. Participants will be contacted after entry with details about attending the training session.
A British Triathlon Race Pass is required for participants who are not British Triathlon home nation members; the stated costs are £2.00 plus a small service charge for those aged 24 and under, and £8.00 plus a small service charge otherwise.
