Black Bear Run 6K/12K
The Black Bear Run is an annual athletic event held in Engadine, Michigan. Now in its 44th year, the race takes participants through the scenic trails of the Hiawatha Sportsman’s Club. The course consists of a combination of paved surfaces and gravel paths.
Two primary distances are available for participants:
- 12K Run
- 6K Run (also available as a 6K Walk)
The 12K event begins at Engadine High School. For those participating in the 6K events, transportation is provided via buses that depart from the high school to the starting location. Buses are also available to transport participants back to the high school after the event, though participants may also choose to be dropped off at the start by private vehicle.
All registered runners receive a dry-fit t-shirt. The event includes a competitive element with trophies presented to the overall winners. Additionally, first, second, and third place medals are awarded to the top male and female finishers in the 12K Run, 6K Run, and 6K Walk within various age categories. These divisions range from age 10 and under up to 70 and over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
