About the race
The Bison View 5K is the 11th annual 5K run/walk held in Sulphur, Oklahoma, on September 12, 2026. The event takes place in and around the Chickasaw National Recreation Area and highlights the park's natural features.
The course follows a hybrid route that winds along spring-fed streams, shaded trails, and park roads. The route passes through park scenery where participants may see local wildlife. A portion of every registration fee benefits the Chickasaw National Recreation Area to support preservation and maintenance of the area.
The event notes the community's recovery and rebuilding after the April 27, 2024 tornado and frames the race as part of local resilience and community activity.
