Holiday Themed Running Event in San Antonio
The Gingerbread Lane 5K & 10K takes place at McAllister Park, Pavilion #5. The event utilizes the park's paved trails and greenbelts, though participants may also encounter surfaces such as crushed granite or dirt paths. The race is part of the Bigfoot Running Company series and features a festive atmosphere with holiday music and refreshments.
Participants can choose from several event distances:
- 10K Run (6.22 miles): Chip timed with overall and age group awards.
- 5K Run (3.11 miles): Chip timed with overall and age group awards.
- 1 Mile Run: A non-timed event for all experience levels.
- Kids Dash: A 50-meter sprint for children aged 10 and under.
- Virtual Run: An option for those unable to attend in person.
All finishers across all distances receive a holiday-themed race shirt and a commemorative medal. The 5K and 10K events are chip-timed, and trophies are awarded to the first overall male and female finishers. A special recognition pin is also provided for winners in the masters category (ages 40+). Following the run, participants can access holiday cookies and milk at the finish line area.
The event also includes a holiday costume contest with prizes for creative attire. Aid stations are situated along the course to provide water and assistance.
