Spring Fling - Corpus Christi
The Spring Fling Race Series, organized by the Bigfoot Running Company, takes place at Lady Bird Johnson Trail Park. This event offers a variety of distances held on mixed surfaces, which may include pavement, crushed granite, and dirt paths. As the course utilizes public parks and greenbelts, participants share the space with other park users.
The event features several participation options:
- Kids Dash: A 50m non-timed run for children aged 10 and under.
- 1 Mile Run: A non-chip-timed distance for various experience levels.
- 5K Run: A chip-timed race measuring 3.11 miles.
- 10K Run: A chip-timed race measuring approximately 6.55 miles.
- Virtual Run: A remote participation option for a half-marathon distance of 13.1 miles.
Participants in the timed 5K and 10K events are eligible for awards. Bigfoot Trophies are awarded to the first overall male and female finishers, while recognition pins are provided for the first masters finishers aged 40 and over. Standard age group awards are available for the top three finishers in categories ranging from 10 and under to 70 and over.
The race environment includes a live DJ and name announcements at the finish line. Aid stations are positioned along the course, and snacks are provided at the Race Rally Tent. Participants receive a finisher medal and a race shirt, with shirt availability guaranteed for those registered at least 10 days before the event.
