About the race
The Bietigheimer Silvesterlauf is the 44th edition of an annual road race held on 31 December 2026 and organised by LG Neckar-Enz with several local clubs and the support of the city. The event is open to all who meet the minimum age requirement of 14 years and is conducted under the rules of the German Athletics Association.
The race course is about 10.35 km, run as two laps mostly on asphalt through the historic old town of Bietigheim and the Enz floodplain. Both gross and net times are recorded; the first 20 men and first 10 women are ranked by gross time, all other finishers by net time. A finish-time limit is set at a net time of 1:25 hours; a marked cyclist indicates the limit and the course reopening follows this cyclist.
Teams are ranked by the sum of net times: 10 participants count for a mixed team and 5 women for a women’s team. Start blocks are assigned according to current 10 km times and must be observed. Timing uses a MikaTag transponder attached to the start number, which may be kept as a souvenir.
Registration is online only and places are limited. Entry fees are tiered by start-number ranges and include a one euro donation to the local food bank. Medical care is provided by the local Red Cross and drinks are available for participants after the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
