About the race
The Bietigheimer Silvesterlauf is an annual year end running event organised by LG Neckar-Enz with support from the city of Bietigheim-Bissingen. The event features a spectator friendly two‑lap course of about 10.5 kilometres that runs through the alleys of the Bietigheim old town and along the Enz, with live moderation on the market square and music along the route. The course finishes under the town viaduct.
The race attracts both national top athletes and hobby runners. The 43rd edition recorded strong participation with over 4,000 registered runners and 74 relay teams, while around 12,000 spectators watched from the route. About 220 volunteers and multiple local organisations support race operations. Event organisers also report a participant limit and a waiting list procedure when places become available.
The Silvesterlauf combines competition and community aspects, including charity activity: organiser reports a donation of 7,000 euros to the Bietigheim-Bissinger Tafel. The next edition is scheduled as the 44th Bietigheimer Silvesterlauf on 31 December 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
