About the race
Írottkő Futóverseny is a mountain trail running event around the Günser Gebirge and the Írottkő / Geschriebenstein area, with parts of some routes crossing into Austria. The event offers multiple race distances that cover varied terrain and notable elevation gain, including:
- 7 km with about 240 m elevation gain
- 23 km with about 780 m elevation gain
- 36 km with about 1250 m elevation gain
- 55 km with about 1950 m elevation gain
- 102 km with about 2910 m elevation gain, also offered as a team race
Course descriptions mention steep climbs, technical sections, forested trails and panoramic views from the summit of Geschriebenstein. The 23 km distance replaces an earlier 18 km route and includes two aid stations along the course. The event is included in international race series, specifically the UTMB index, ITRA and the Austrian mountain running cup.
