Event Overview

The Beaver Flat 50 is a trail running event located in Saskatchewan. Despite the regional reputation for flat terrain, the race takes place on narrow animal trails and features a total vertical gain of 2255 meters for the main distance. The course consists of 100% trail terrain, including sand, rock, cacti, juniper bushes, and water crossings.

Participants can choose from several race distances:

  • 50 km: The main ultra distance featuring 2255 meters of ascent.
  • Dam Hard 20: A 20 km course including a 15 km loop.
  • Beaver Fever 10: An out-and-back course with 400 meters of vertical gain.
  • Horseshoe Hustle 5: A single loop course with 150 meters of vertical gain.
  • Kids Fun Run: An untimed 1 km loop for children of all ages.

The 50 km course is divided into six segments: Horseshoe, Spring Coulee, Weetman, Goodwin, Beaver Banter, and Home Before Dark. There are five aid stations located at the 11 km, 16 km, 23 km, 33 km, and 43.5 km marks. The station at 33 km serves as a drop bag location. Participants have a total of 10.5 hours to complete the 50 km distance to receive a finisher's badge. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
