Beaver Flat 50 : course overview
Beaver Flat 50 is a 50-kilometre trail race scheduled for September 19, 2026. The route has about 2255 metres of vertical ascent and is 100% trail, mostly on very narrow animal paths that include rocky, sandy and wet sections.
The course is described in six legs with distance and elevation:
- Horseshoe - 11.2 km, 450 m elevation.
- Spring Coulee - 4.8 km, 178 m elevation.
- Weetman - 7 km, 444 m elevation.
- Goodwin - 9.5 km, 396 m elevation.
- Beaver Banter - 10.4 km, 449 m elevation.
- Home Before Dark - 6 km, 297 m elevation.
The terrain can cause wet shoes, ankle strain and scratched shins. Vegetation and hazards include cactus, juniper bushes, rock, sand, snakes and water. The race notes that the final sections add substantial climbing compared with shorter events on the same property.
Aid stations are located along the route with specified cutoff times. Goodwin House at 33 km is an aid station with a drop bag location and is indicated as the last logical place to withdraw. A GPX file and a racer handbook are provided for the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
