The Flaming Unicorn : event description
The Flaming Unicorn is a free night run held at Saskatchewan Landing Equestrian Campground during the Beaver Flat 50 anniversary celebrations. The event revives a social tradition in which participants run with headlamps and were once said to look like flaming unicorns running up the ridge. It is offered as a post‑event activity after the main BFF event.
The run is not timed and emphasizes a social, festive atmosphere. Runners, volunteers, spectators, and others may take part. Volunteers are requested for general support and at least four course sweepers are needed to assist participants back to the finish area. Merchandise and other event swag will be available on site. Bib pickup is provided the same evening before the run.
All ages are welcome; children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver and have two hours to reach the finish line. Participants are asked to bring headlamps for running in the dark.
Distance options
- Flaming 5k follows the Horseshoe Hustle 5 route with a disco aid station at 3.5 km
