About the race
The Bearhole Road Race is a road running event held at Twin Falls Resort State Park in Mullens, West Virginia. The event features two measured distances and a course that begins near the Twin Falls Golf Course Clubhouse parking lot and returns to the park.
The course runs on the scenic roads of Twin Falls Resort State Park. The route passes through wooded parkland and uses rolling Appalachian terrain rather than a flat circuit.

Awards are given for overall and age group performance. First place overall winners are selected in both male and female divisions for the 5K and 10K. First, second and third place trophies are awarded for separate age groups within the male and female divisions.
Early registrants are guaranteed official event participant items, including a participant T shirt and a finisher medal, where those guarantees are offered for registrations made before the event cutoff. The race is described in organizer materials as a long running tradition that has brought runners together for more than four decades.
