Bearhole Road Race
The Bearhole Road Race takes place in late June at Twin Falls Resort State Park near Mullens, West Virginia. The event offers two official race distances:
- 5K
- 10K
The course begins near the Twin Falls Golf Course Clubhouse parking lot and follows roads within the state park, running through wooded areas and rolling terrain before returning to the finish area. Overall first place winners are selected separately in the male and female 5K and 10K divisions. In addition, first, second and third place trophies are awarded for separate age groups within the male and female divisions for each distance.
Early registration carries apparel and medal guarantees: participants who register on or before May 31 are guaranteed an official Bearhole participant T shirt and a finisher medal; registrations beginning June 1 are not guaranteed a shirt or medal. The race is presented as a recurring local running event set among the mountains and forests of Wyoming County and uses the park roads for its routes.
