Bear River Trail Race : Evanston, Wyoming
The Bear River Trail Race on July 11, 2026 takes place at Bear Meadows Park in Evanston, Wyoming. The courses follow the Bear River greenway, the trails of Bear River State Park, and the Rio Oso Trails. Runners pass through lush river bottoms, see the Bear River, and may encounter park wildlife including elk and bison. The 17 mile course reaches a high point of 7,342 feet.
Aid stations are placed along the courses. All finishers receive a T shirt and a finisher award. Packet pickup and check in are held the morning of the event at Bear Meadows Park, 75 Bear River Dr., Evanston, WY 82930, from 5:30 AM to 6:45 AM. Volunteer opportunities are available.
Distances
- 17 Miler: 1,138 feet vertical gain; 6 hour cutoff
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles): 684 feet vertical gain; 6 hour cutoff
- 10K (6.2 miles): 45 feet total vertical gain; 6 hour cutoff
Walkers are welcome for the 10K and the half marathon. The event combines river greenway segments with well groomed park trails and sections on Wyoming bluffs and plains for varied scenery. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
