Bear River Trail Race
The Bear River Trail Race in Evanston, Wyoming follows the Bear River greenway and trails in Bear River State Park and the nearby Rio Oso Trails. The course passes through river bottoms and open plains, offering river views and opportunities to see local wildlife such as elk and a reported white bison.
The event offers three distances:
- 17 Miler: 1,138 ft vertical gain; 6 hour cutoff.
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles): 684 ft vertical gain; 6 hour cutoff.
- 10K (6.2 miles): 45 ft total vertical; 6 hour cutoff.
Aid stations are placed along the course. All finishers receive a T-shirt and a finisher award. Walkers are welcome for the 10K and the half marathon. The race start and finish are at Bear Meadows Park, 75 Bear River Dr., Evanston, WY 82930. The terrain includes well groomed trails with sections of minimal elevation gain along the river and higher bluffs that provide views of the Uinta mountain range and the Bear River from above.
