Event Overview

The Bear River Trail Race takes place on July 11, 2026, in Evanston, Wyoming. It offers three distances: a 10k (6.2 miles), a Half Marathon (13.1 miles), and a 17 Miler. The event starts and finishes at Bear Meadows Park (75 Bear River Dr., Evanston, WY).

Course Details

The course combines the Bear River greenway with trails in Bear River State Park and the Rio Oso Trails. Participants run through river bottoms with views of the Bear River and wildlife, including bison and elk. The routes vary in elevation:

  • 10k: 45 feet of total elevation gain.
  • Half Marathon: 684 feet of vertical gain, with sections moving up to Wyoming bluffs.
  • 17 Miler: 1,138 feet of vertical gain, reaching a high point at 7,342 feet before returning to the start.

All distances share a six-hour cutoff time. Aid stations are provided along the course.

Participant Information

A T-shirt and finisher award are given to all finishers. Packet pickup and check-in occur on race morning from 5:30 AM to 6:45 AM. The event is sponsored by Ogden Running Company.
