About the race
BC Backyard Ultra is a Last Runner Standing style backyard ultra held at Sicamous Public Beach Park in Sicamous, British Columbia. The event follows the backyard format in which runners repeatedly return to a common start/finish area to begin each loop until only one remains. The race supports the Canadian Championship Series and Big Dog’s Backyard Ultra World Championship. In October 2026 the Sicamous course will host the Canadian Backyard Ultra National Championship, and the April 23, 2027 event marks the sixth and final year of BC Backyard Ultra. The trails used for the route lie within the Traditional Territory of the Southern Secwepemc First Nation.
The event is organized by Lewiston Ultra Events. Registration details for the final year: registration opens October 1, 2026 at 6:00 PM MST and will close April 9, 2027 at 8:00 AM or when the race fills. Entry fee is listed as 185 CAD plus GST and the UltraSignup fee. Participants must be 19 years of age or older on race day.
