Bayside Sea Swim Triathlon
The event is hosted at Stokes Bay Sailing Club in Gosport. It combines an open water swim, a road bike section and a short run, all starting and finishing at the sailing club.
Distances:
- 400 m sea swim in the Solent
- 25 km bike along seafront and quiet country roads
- 5 km flat run on Stokes Bay promenade
The swim is a straight line parallel to the shore and uses the Solent current. Entry and exit are from a gentle beach with a short run over shingle to transition. Starts are graded by speed, and the swim area has shallow water plus shore and waterborne support. Wetsuits are compulsory for all competitors.
The bike course mixes quiet country roads and seafront sections, passing Lee on the Solent, Stubbington and Titchfield, with a short climb on Coach Hill and a diversion toward Titchfield Haven before returning to Stokes Bay and transition.
The run is a flat 5 km route along the promenade with a short meadow loop near the lifeboat station before the finish at the Sailing Club.
All finishers receive a medal, a bacon roll and a hot drink with vegetarian and gluten free options available on request. Trophies are awarded to the first three finishers in each category. Entry fee is £45 per person. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
