Battle Of the Bays : Rangatira Tomos, Taupo
This is an interclub orienteering competition held at Rangatira Tomos, Taupo on Sunday 8 November 2026. The event uses a club-points system that compares average times of qualifying club members on each course to produce an overall club result. Points are awarded to clubs in order 1st = 7, 2nd = 5, 3rd = 2 and adjustments apply when a club has no entries or more than three entries on a course.
Six courses are planned to cover a range of lengths and age classes:
- Red Long: 5.5 km, competition classes M20 M21 M40
- Red Medium: 4.5 km, competition classes M16 M50 W20 W21 W40
- Red Short: 3.0 km, competition classes M60 W16 W50 W60
- Orange: 3.1 km, competition classes M14 W14
- Yellow: 2.2 km, competition classes M12 W12
- White: 2.0 km, competition classes M10 W10
Entries may be made as teams or individuals; team entries are entered by adding all team members as individual entries and selecting the same open course for each team member. Entry fees vary by age and membership status. A limited number of maps and hire SI cards will be available on the day with associated fees.
