Hybrid Fitness Fundraising Challenge
The Battle Cancer Dublin event is a functional fitness competition held at the RDS Simmonscourt (Hall 8) in Ballsbridge. This team-based challenge brings together athletes from across Ireland to raise money for cancer charities. Participants compete in teams of four, which can be all-male, all-female, or mixed.
The competition follows a signature 90-minute format consisting of 3 zones and 9 stations. Each station requires five minutes of maximum repetitions, followed by four minutes of rest before the team moves to the next station. The challenge combines elements of endurance, strength, and teamwork. Participants can choose between two divisions:
- Challenge Division: The standard level for general fitness participants.
- Compete Division: An advanced level for experienced athletes.
While fundraising is not mandatory for entry, teams are encouraged to support a cancer charity of their choice, such as the Irish Cancer Society or the Battle Cancer Program. Registered teams receive an athlete t-shirt (if registered before 20 February 2027), a finishers patch, and access to a training plan.
The event venue at the RDS offers on-site parking for a daily fee. There are no changing rooms or shower facilities available at the location. The event includes a warm-up zone, a recovery area, and an event village with a DJ and MC. Spectator entry is free for friends and family.
