Basset Ear Prediction Run

The Basset Ear Prediction Run is an 8 km racing event held in Denholm, Quebec. The course takes place on undulating country gravel roads, providing a hilly terrain for participants. The event follows a unique prediction format where the primary objective is to accurately estimate one's own finishing time rather than crossing the finish line first.

Participants are required to record their predicted finish time on a central board before the race begins. To maintain the integrity of the challenge, the use of watches, mobile phones, or any other timing devices is not permitted during the run. The route directs runners south along Farrellton Road. Upon completion, each runner receives a sticker with their actual finish time to calculate the differential against their prediction.

The event is hosted at a location known as The Ark. Following the run, the gathering includes refreshments such as freshly made Basset Ears, brownies, and beer. Additional activities feature community games like Rock-Paper-Scissors and other challenges where participants have the opportunity to win prizes, including snowshoes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
