About the race
The Barnwell Community Spud Run is a community running event on 11/14/2026 at the Barnwell Community Center, 13319 County Road 3, Fairhope, AL. The event offers multiple race options and an accompanying festival.
Distances:
- 5K: 5-kilometer course on paved rural roads with slight hills.
- 1 mile: one-mile fun run loop.
Entry options include a paid 5K and paid or free fun-run entries. Fees listed by the organizer include a $30 5K entry with shirt included, a $20 fun-run entry with shirt included, a free fun-run entry without a shirt, and a $20 tee shirt only option. A student 5K entry is available without a shirt at no charge. Registration opens August 3, 2026 and closes November 14, 2026. Race day registration and packet pick-up take place at the Barnwell Community Center. Participants registered by November 1 are guaranteed a tee shirt.
All proceeds support restoration efforts at the Barnwell Community Center. The event schedule includes a Barbecue & Spuds Festival on site with local arts and crafts vendors, live music, food and drinks, spud-themed treats, and children’s activities such as bounce houses and face painting.
