Barkhamsted River Run 5K

The Barkhamsted River Run is a community fundraiser for the Town of Barkhamsted elementary school held in Barkhamsted, Connecticut. The event features a main 5K and a separate 1 Mile kids fun run, with proceeds supporting the local elementary school.

The course is described as scenic and fairly level. It is an out and back route that includes two hills and runs along the Farmington River and through People’s State Forest in the Northwest Hills of Litchfield County.

Event logistics include on-site parking at Barkhamsted Elementary School, 65 Ripley Hill Road, Barkhamsted, CT 06063. Entry fee is $10. Registration opens January 13, 2026 and closes May 31, 2026. T-shirts are provided to participants who register by Friday, May 15. Medals are awarded to the first place finisher in each category. Animals, roller blades, and bikes are not permitted.
