Barefoot for Africa 5K
The Barefoot for Africa 5K is HART's signature charity 5K held on September 26, 2026 at Lindon City Park in Lindon, Utah. The event is a loop course of 5K (3.1 Miles) with the start and finish at Lindon City Center Park. The route heads east on Center Street, turns north onto the Murdock Trail, follows the trail to 400 North, continues west on 400 North, and then turns south onto Main Street to return to the park.
Entry is listed at $40 and includes a HART logo T-shirt and a finisher's medal. Post-race hydration and snacks are provided. Registration and payment are handled through RaceEntry, and every entry fee supports HART's medical mission work in Ghana.
The event invites participants to run with or without shoes, reflecting the One Mile in Their Footsteps concept used by the organizer. A companion race is held in Kukuom, Ghana, with the next companion race scheduled for November 27, 2027 during the medical mission there. The organizer states that all ages and paces are welcome and notes that additional donations beyond the entry fee go to charitable use in the medical mission.
