Event Overview

The Barclays Knutsford 10K is a licensed UK Athletics event scheduled for Sunday, 27 September 2026. The race takes place in Knutsford, starting and finishing within the grounds of the Barclays Radbroke campus (postcode WA16 9EU). The course is described as potentially one of the flattest and fastest 10 km routes in the North West, with only 23 metres of elevation gain over the entire distance.

The Course

The route starts on the grounds of the Barclays campus, heads out onto scenic country lanes through Over Peover, Snelson, and Peover Heath, and returns to Radbroke. The country lanes are fully closed to traffic for the event. A time limit of 1 hour and 30 minutes is in place due to the complexity of the course and the need to reopen local roads.

Event Details

The entry fee is £28 for club runners and £30 for non-club runners. The minimum age for entry is 15. All finishers receive a bespoke medal. An optional commemorative technical finisher's T-shirt is available for purchase. Pacers are provided from 35 to 80 minutes, at 2.5-minute intervals.

Facilities & Logistics

Race HQ offers free parking, free baggage storage, toilets, a bag drop, and first aid. There is a drinks station at the halfway point and at the finish. Participants are encouraged to car share to ease congestion. The closest train station is Knutsford (2.6 miles away), but there are no Sunday services that would arrive in time for the event; the nearest accessible station is Wilmslow, 8 miles away. Bike storage racks are available.

Race Features

The event uses chip timing, and results are available immediately via text message and online. High-resolution photographs are available to download for free later on race day. There is a post-race snack, and water will be provided at the finish. In an effort to reduce environmental impact, participants are encouraged to bring their own pre-filled water bottle.

Additional Information

The official race charity partner is Young Minds, a youth mental health charity. Entries will close when the race limit is reached or at midnight the night before the race; there are no entries on the day. If participants can no longer run, they have the option to transfer their place to another person or to a virtual race. The top 3 male and female finishers (based on gun time) receive prizes immediately after the race. Veteran category prizes (from V35 to V85+ in 5-year increments and U20) are awarded based on chip time and are sent by post. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
