Banbury 15
The Banbury 15 is a 15 mile road race held on 28 February 2027 and organised by Tempo Events with the permission of Banbury Harriers Running Club. The event uses Spiceball Country Park as its start and finish location and the race headquarters are at Spiceball Leisure Centre, Cherwell Drive, Banbury OX16 2BW.
The route heads north along Southam Road using footpaths, passes through Little Bourton and continues on country roads to Great Bourton, Cropready and Claydon before looping back to the finish at Spiceball Country Park.
Entries are by pre-entry only; runners collect chips and numbers on race day and there are no entries on the day. Entry fees are listed as £35 for affiliated runners and £37 for unaffiliated runners, plus a small transaction fee. Medals are awarded to all finishers. Prizes are given to the first three finishers of each gender and age group winners are recognised from age 35 in 10 year increments; an age group prize rolls down if the winner is also in the top three.
Race facilities include changing rooms, showers and toilets at Race HQ and a baggage drop at the start/finish. There are three water stations with sealed bottled water at about miles 4, 8 and 11, and bottled water at the finish. Runners are responsible for their own hydration needs. Litter should be dropped at water stations where an extra rubbish bag is provided about 200 metres after each station.
Only bone conduction sports headphones are allowed because the course uses open roads. The course is marshalled; runners must keep to the left in accordance with TR55.7 and TR55.8 and take responsibility for their own safety. Refunds are available up to six weeks before the race less a £2 administration fee; after that refunds are not offered unless the entrant helps marshal, although transfers to another runner are permitted. If the race is cancelled organisers will seek to reschedule or offer a percentage refund or the option to donate that refund depending on costs incurred. All contact should be made by email.
