Banbury 15
The Banbury 15 is a 15 mile road race organised by Tempo Events with the permission of Banbury Harriers Running Club. The event returns in 2027 after a break since 2025 and is historically known as the Geoff Smith Banbury 15, with the first race thought to have been held in 1995.
The race uses Spiceball Country Park and Spiceball Leisure Centre as Race HQ and the start and finish base. The route heads north up Southam Road on footpaths, passes through Little Bourton, then follows country roads via Great Bourton, Cropready, and Claydon before looping back to Spiceball Country Park.
Entry is by pre-entry only and there are no entries on race day. Runners collect timing chips and race numbers on the day. Entry fees are listed as £35 for affiliated runners and £37 for unaffiliated runners, plus a small transaction fee. Parking is available in public car parks on Cherwell Drive and Spiceball Park Road; parking charges apply and some nearby car parks have short stay restrictions.
There will be three water stations providing sealed bottled water at around miles 4, 8 and 11, and bottled water at the finish. A baggage drop, changing facilities, showers and toilets are available at Race HQ. Medals are awarded to all finishers and prizes are given to the first three male and female finishers and to age group winners from 35 in 10 year increments. Only bone conduction sports headphones are permitted on the open road course and runners must keep to the left unless directed otherwise.
