Baker Lake Classic 25k
The Baker Lake Classic 25k is a point to point trail event scheduled for October 4, 2026, running along the eastern shore of Baker Lake near Concrete, Washington. The route passes through stands of old growth trees covered in lichen and moss and continues into a regrowth Douglas fir forest that established after an 1843 eruption and fire. Burned cedar snags from the earlier forest remain visible along parts of the trail.
From north to south the trail contours the lake shoreline and offers intermittent glimpses of Mt. Baker. Wildflowers and understory plants noted along the route include western trillium, twinflower, foamflower, coralroot and twisted stalk. Because the course ends at a different location from the start, participants are transported by bus from the finish area back to the start; the organizer requests that runners arrive early for the bus service.
The event takes place in a forested, lakeside setting and emphasizes natural features of the corridor. Logistics are arranged to support the point to point format, and the course highlights local plant communities and evidence of historical volcanic disturbance.
