Relish Running Races at Badminton
The event takes place within the private Badminton estate in South Gloucestershire at Worcester Lodge. This historic site, which includes the remains of Roman villas and landscapes designed by Capability Brown, is primarily closed to the public and only opens for special events. The terrain consists of a variety of surfaces including solid stone paths, woodland trails, and open grass meadows. The courses are largely flat with minor changes in elevation.
Participants can choose from several distances:
- Marathon (minimum age 18)
- Half Marathon (minimum age 17)
- 10km (minimum age 14)
- 5km (minimum age 12)
- 2km Fun Run (no minimum age)
The races are organized in waves of approximately 100 runners to ensure spacing on the course. For the Marathon, there is a three-hour cut-off time to begin the second lap. The routes are fully marked with distance markers and marshals. Drinks stations are positioned at intervals, with one station for the 10km, three for the Half Marathon, and seven for the Marathon. No drinks stations are provided on the 5km route.
At the finish line, runners of the 5km and longer distances receive a 10cm x 10cm two-sided medal. A buffet featuring fruit, chocolate, sweets, and snacks, including gluten-free and vegan options, is provided for all finishers. On-site facilities include toilets, a bag drop, and food and coffee vans, though there are no changing rooms. Parking is available on-site for a fee, and the nearest train stations are Yate and Chippenham. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
