Event Overview
The Badge on the Trails is an annual event organized by the Weslaco Municipal Police Union. This gathering serves as the second edition of the race, designed to support local law enforcement officers and foster community unity through physical activity. The event takes place at Estero Llano Grande State Park in Weslaco, Texas.
Participants can choose to complete the course as a walk or a run. The event includes a single distance option:

Course and Location
The race is held within the grounds of Estero Llano Grande State Park, located at 3301 S International Blvd FM 1015. This venue provides participants with access to the natural environment of the region while they navigate the trail system.
Registration and Participation
The registration fee follows a tiered pricing structure that increases as the event date approaches. Participants who register by May 9, 2026, are guaranteed an event t-shirt. Portion of the proceeds are allocated to specific organizations: five dollars from every entry fee is donated to the Texas Park and Wildlife Department, and another five dollars is donated to Estero Llano Grande State Park.
Logistics
Packet pick-up is organized at the Weslaco Police Department over two days prior to the race. This allows participants to collect their materials in advance of the event.
