Backroads Gravel : event overview

Backroads Gravel is a mass participation gravel cycling and trail running event held in the Midwest region of Western Australia. The event is scheduled for August 8, 2026. Organisers describe Backroads as the biggest mass participation sporting event in the midwest. The gravel run was added in 2023 to provide a running option alongside the cycling routes. The 2025 edition officially sold out, with 1,000 participants taking part. The event is presented by The Event Team and includes public acknowledgements of the Yamatji people as Traditional Custodians of the land.
