Arizona Sunrise Series - Kiwanis Park

The Arizona Sunrise Series begins its season at Kiwanis Park in Tempe. This event is the first leg of a seven-part summer series held across different locations in Arizona. The race is limited to 700 participants and offers both in-person and virtual options for those residing in the United States.

Participants can choose from the following distance:

  • 5 km

The event is chip-timed, providing real-time results and photos. The course features extra water stations to accommodate higher temperatures. Amenities for participants include custom event apparel, such as a racerback tank top or t-shirt, and a series medal. After the run, a brunch including fruit, granola bars, water, and electrolyte drinks is provided.

The course is open to various types of participants. Walkers, strollers, and wagons are permitted, and the event is leashed-pet friendly. Motorized devices, skateboards, and roller blades are not allowed on the course. Awards are presented to the top three finishers in multiple age groups, ranging from 8 and under to 80 and over.

Participants have two starting options on race day. An open start window is available early in the morning for flexible departures, followed by a communal mass start. Packet pick-up is available the day prior at a local sporting goods store or on the morning of the event at the park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
