Event Overview
The AZ Sunrise Series - Freestone Park is a 5K running event held on Saturday, June 27, 2026. It is the fourth leg of the 13th Annual Arizona Sunrise Series. The event is limited to 700 participants. Participants can register for this single event or for the entire seven-event series.
Location & Race Day
The event takes place at Freestone District Park on East Juniper Avenue in Gilbert, Arizona. Race day registration and packet pick-up open at the park.
Registration & Fees
Registration is tiered, with pricing increasing on certain dates. An in-person 5K and a virtual run option are available. Race day registration is available for a higher fee. Participants can choose from event swag, including arm sleeves or various shirts, with an option to decline swag for a discount. The event is chip-timed, and real-time results and photos are posted online.
Series Information
This is part of the StartLine Racing Arizona Sunrise Series, which consists of seven events. Participants earn points for each completed event, with extra points for age group and overall finishes. The top point earners and those who complete at least four events are entered into a prize drawing, which includes $500 gift cards.
Participant Information
The event welcomes walkers, wheelchairs, strollers, and leashed pets. It does not allow roller blades, skateboards, or motorized devices. The event takes place regardless of weather, with no refunds or transfers due to weather.
There are two starting options: an open start line from 5:30 AM to 6:15 AM, where participants can begin at any time, or a traditional mass start at 6:30 AM.
Perks & Awards
All participants receive a custom series medal and an add-on medal for this specific event. Age group awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in numerous age categories, starting from 8 & under up to 80 & over. A pre- and post-race "Runner's Brunch" with snacks and drinks is provided, along with extra water stations on the course.
Packet Pick-Up
Packet pick-up is available on Friday, June 26, at Road Runner Sports in Tempe, and on race day at Freestone Park beginning at 5:30 AM. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
