Austria eXtreme Triathlon: Course and Format
The Austria eXtreme Triathlon takes participants from Graz to the Dachstein, crossing four mountain passes before finishing at the foot of the Dachstein massif. The entire course features approximately 5,900 meters of elevation gain. The race can be completed as an individual athlete with a support crew or as a relay team. There is no mass start, as the event emphasizes a calm and personal race atmosphere.
Race disciplines and key figures:
- 3.8 km swim (water temperature: 16–19°C / 61–66°F)
- 186 km bike ride with 3,900 m of elevation gain across four mountain passes
- 44 km run with 1,840 m of elevation gain, finishing at the Dachstein South Face
The organizers provide participants with a race handbook, a course road map, a finisher list, a photo gallery, and athlete race reports.
The route starts in the southern part of Graz and follows the Mur River toward the Dachstein. Throughout the race, athletes are accompanied by their support crew or relay team, especially during the final kilometers leading to the Dachstein South Face.
The event description focuses on the key facts: course distance, elevation gain, swim water temperature, and the option to compete solo with support or as part of a relay team are the defining features of the Austria eXtreme Triathlon.
