About the race
Australian Outback Marathon is held in the heart of Australia’s Red Centre, around Uluru and Kata Tjuta in Central Australia. The event offers marathon (42 km), half-marathon (21 km), 11-km and 6-km races, welcoming professionals, club runners, casual runners and beginners. The course is relatively flat with a few inclines and sand dunes, largely on unsealed roads, bush tracks and soft-sand trails, showcasing Australia’s iconic Red Earth.
Participants enjoy dramatic views of Uluru and Kata Tjuta and a unique outback atmosphere, plus premium itineraries that include accommodation, transfers and experiences such as a Sunrise over Uluru, a Sounds of Silence-style dinner, and Kings Canyon day tours.
