37th Ausherman 5 Miler : Chambersburg, PA
The Ausherman 5 Miler is a chip timed road race covering 5 MI on a keyhole out/loop/back course that winds through the north end of Chambersburg. The course starts and finishes at the Marine Corps League building at 450 Grant Street and is described as a flat, fast road course.
The event is hosted by and benefits the Chambersburg Road Runners Club. It is part of the Cumberland Valley Race Series and includes standard age group awards with multiple places in most categories. Overall and masters awards are given, as well as cash prizes: Open 1st–3rd $150, $125, $100; Masters 1st–3rd $100, $75, $50; plus a $250 course record bonus. Awards are also provided for the top five Marines.
Registration is online only; there is no mail or race day registration. Registration closes on August 7, 2026. Entry fees vary by registration date, with early registration at $25 and later fees at $30; long sleeve shirts are available for an additional fee and the last day to guarantee a shirt is July 18. Extra shirts may be available on race day for $30.
Timing is provided by chip and finish times are recorded by chip, while awards are determined by gun time. Runners are required to wear their timing chip on their shoe and their bib on the chest or they may be ineligible for official results and awards. Results may be posted after the event once verified.
