Aurora Om Die Berg 2026
Aurora Om Die Berg is an annual cycling event and fun run hosted by NG Gemeente Aurora in the Sandveld. The event is based at Aurora Skougronde in Aurora, Western Cape, with the start and finish at the showgrounds where a small town bazaar offers food, drinks and Sandveld hospitality.
Routes and categories include MTB (E bikes welcome), gravel routes and a fun run. Available course options cover a range of distances and surfaces, from farm gravel roads to single track over the mountain. The main MTB course is a 55 km Om die Berg route that circles the Aurora mountain and includes farm routes and single track sections. That 55 km route has a measured total elevation of 662 m.
Age rules for accompaniment apply: children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult on the 55 km and 80 km routes, children under 12 on the 20 km route, and children under 10 on the 10 km routes. Prizes are awarded to the first three finishers in the 80 km, 55 km and 20 km categories; E bikes are excluded from prize eligibility.

- 20 km Trapsgewys: 20 km mixed tar and gravel route.
- 10 km Prettrap / Dapper Stapper: 10 km fun routes with a midpoint turnaround.
