Arrow Valley Sprint Distance Triathlon
The Worcester Triathlon Club organizes this multi-sport event held at Arrow Valley Country Park in Redditch. The race follows a sprint distance format, utilizing the lake and surrounding countryside for a three-part course. All key event areas, including registration, the transition zone, and the finish line, are located in the field adjacent to the main car park near the local café and bar facilities.
The competition consists of the following distances:
- 800m Swim: A single lap in Arrow Valley Lake, which holds an excellent status rating under the EC Bathing Water Directive.
- 20km Bike: A route through the scenic lanes of Worcestershire, featuring a combination of undulating roads and flat sections.
- 5km Run: A predominantly flat course following the footpaths around the perimeter of the lake.
The layout is designed to be spectator-friendly, with the transition and finish areas providing central vantage points to watch the participants. Participants who are not members of a British Triathlon Home Nation are required to obtain a British Triathlon Race Pass to compete. The event has a total capacity of 100 places and focuses on providing a clear route through the local landscape for athletes of various experience levels.
