About the race
The ARC Irene Road Run/Walk is a road running event held at the Irene Athletics Club inside the Agricultural Research Centre (ARC) Irene in Centurion, Gauteng. The event is open to non-club members and does not require an athletics license.

- 3 km
- 5 km
- 10 km
- 15 km
- 21 km
There are separate entry categories for kids and pensioners at several distances. Pre-entry online fees apply with a higher on-the-day entry surcharge; children under 13 and adults over 60 pay a reduced flat fee with no extra on-the-day charge. Race numbers are issued on the morning of the event at registration; there is no need to collect packs the day before.
The road option uses internal roads within the ARC Irene grounds only and does not go onto public roads. Routes are marked, water tables are provided on all routes, and walking is allowed on the 2 km, 5 km, 10 km and 15 km routes. Amenities at the clubhouse include coffee, drinks and snacks. Entry includes a finisher medal and Vitality points.
Pets are not allowed. The event offers an optional “Make a Difference” campaign where participants may donate the cost of their medal; funds raised will be donated to an animal shelter at year end. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
