Event overview
Sinister Night Runs is a nighttime trail race held at San Tan Mountain Regional Park in Queen Creek, Arizona. It is part of the 2026 Insomniac Night Series and offers multiple distances on the same looped course. The event uses a 9 km loop on the San Tan, Hedgehog and Littleleaf Trails and runs counter-clockwise for all distances.

- 54K (six 9 km loops; 34.3 miles total)
- 27K (three loops)
- 18K (two loops)
- 9K (single loop)
- 6K (single lap using Littleleaf and San Tan, cutting back on Moonlight)
The 54K includes a reported total elevation gain of 3,179 feet. There is one full remote aid station (San Tan Aid) on the loop; the main aid station is stocked with water, ice, electrolyte drinks, salty and sweet snacks, fruit, pb&j, bean rollups and hot food such as quesadillas and grilled cheese. Crews are allowed at the start/finish; pacers are permitted only for 54K runners beginning on loop 5 (around 36K). A designated area at the start/finish will hold personal drop bags.
Courses are marked with orange plastic ribbons with black polka dots, reflective medallions and laminated signs; blue and white checkerboard flagging denotes wrong-way trails. The event is cupless; participants must bring a cup or purchase a reusable one. A $7 park entry fee per vehicle applies. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
