Sinister Night Runs

Sinister Night Runs is a night trail running event held at San Tan Mountain Regional Park in Queen Creek, Arizona. The event is part of the 2026 Insomniac Series and offers multiple race distances on the park trail system.

Distances

  • 6K

All distances use a 9 kilometer loop on the San Tan, Hedgehog and Littleleaf Trails. The 54K is six loops, the 27K is three loops, the 18K is two loops, and the 9K and 6K are single laps. All loops are run in a counter clockwise direction.

The course consists of smooth runnable trails with a few rollers and rocky sections. There is one full remote aid station on the loop called San Tan Aid and a main aid area at the start and finish. Aid station supplies include water, ice, electrolyte drinks, salty and sweet snacks, fruit, peanut butter and jelly, bean rollups, and hot food options such as quesadillas and grilled cheese.

Crews are allowed at the start and finish. Pacers are permitted for 54K runners beginning on loop five. A designated area for personal drop bags is available at the start and finish. The event is CUPLESS; reusable cups are required or available for purchase. Park entry requires a $7 fee per vehicle. Pets are not allowed on course and camping is not permitted.
