Mesquite Canyon Trail Runs
Mesquite Canyon Trail Runs take place on Saturday, March 13, 2027 at White Tank Mountain Regional Park in Waddell, Arizona. The event uses single track trails and dirt roads with desert terrain that includes boulders, sand, cactus, and gravel.
Distances offered:
- 50 Mile
- 50K
- 30K
- Half Marathon
- 8K
- Kid’s Fun Run
The 50K and 50 Mile courses include a hazardous Ford Canyon wash that requires basic navigational skills and sections of downhill rock scrambling across White Tank rock formations. Courses feature repeated climbing and long descents, substantial elevation gain, and several remote sections.
Aid stations are placed roughly every 1.8 to 8.8 miles. Organizers note an 8.8 mile stretch with no aid on some courses; the Goat Camp aid offers drop bag service and ice, the Mesquite aid is remote with no ice, and Ford Canyon aid is water only. The event is cupless with reusable cups available for purchase or participants may bring their own.
Crews are permitted at the start/finish area and Goat Camp aid; pacers are allowed for 50 mile runners after the 50K point or from Goat Camp. Courses are marked with colored ribbons and laminated signs and finish times are recorded using chip timing. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers at each distance and all finishers receive a finisher award. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
