Mesquite Canyon Trail Runs - White Tank Mountain Regional Park
Mesquite Canyon Trail Runs take place on Saturday, March 13, 2027 at White Tank Mountain Regional Park in Waddell, AZ. The event offers multiple distances on single track trails and dirt roads through desert terrain featuring boulders, sandy washes, and native desert flora.
Distances include:
- 50 Mile
- 50K
- 30K
- Half Marathon
- 8K
- Kid's Fun Run (approx. 1.5 miles)
The 50K and 50 Mile courses pass through Ford Canyon, a section described as hazardous that requires basic navigational skills and includes downhill rock scrambling over White Tank rock formations. Course markings correspond to bib colors and junctions are signed; runners are responsible for knowing their course. A chip timing system records finish times and live split points may be available.
Aid stations are spaced roughly every 1.8 to 8.8 miles and provide water, electrolyte drink, snacks, and fruit. There is an extended 8.8 mile stretch without aid on some distances; participants are advised to carry at least 2 to 3 bottles (50-70 ounces). Specific aid notes: Ford Canyon is water only, Mesquite aid is remote with no ice, and Goat Camp supports drop bags and ice.
Crews are allowed at the start/finish and Goat Camp. Pacers are permitted for 50 mile runners after the 50K mark or from Goat Camp. The event is cupless with reusable cups available for purchase. A park entry fee applies. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
