Mesquite Canyon Trail Runs
Mesquite Canyon Trail Runs is a multi-distance trail event held at White Tank Mountain Regional Park in Waddell, Arizona. Distances offered include:
- 50 Mile
- 50K
- 30K
- Half Marathon
- 8K
- Kid’s Fun Run
Courses use single-track trails and dirt roads with desert surface features such as rocks, sand, boulders, and native desert flora. The 50K and 50 Mile routes pass through Ford Canyon, a section described as hazardous that requires basic navigational skills and includes downhill rock scrambling over the White Tank rock formations. Several sections feature sustained climbing and long descents, with notable elevation gain on the longer distances.
Aid stations are placed roughly every 1.8 to 8.8 miles. The Waddell aid station serves all distances; the Mesquite aid is remote and carried-in by volunteers; Goat Camp supports drop bags and provides water, food and ice; Ford Canyon aid is water only. The event operates cupless logistics with reusable cups available for purchase.
Crew access is allowed at the start/finish and at Goat Camp. Pacers are permitted for 50 mile entrants after the 50K point or from Goat Camp. The race uses chip timing with live split points when available. Awards include top three male and female finishers per distance and finisher awards for all finishers.
