Aonach Mor Uphill 2026 (New Year)

The Aonach Mor Uphill takes place on Thursday 1 January 2026 at Nevis Range Ski Centre, Torlundy, Fort William. The event is organised by Lochaber AC. Entries are handled online and the race is capped at 150 entries; a waiting list is in use. Entries open Monday 1 September 2025 and close Monday 29 December 2025. The minimum age for entry is 18. The entry fee is £15.00.

Race details and logistics

The course distance is 4 km with a climb of 610 m. Full body cover must be carried or the entry will not be allowed; required items include a waterproof jacket with a hood and taped seams, waterproof over trousers with taped seams, a warm hat or buff, and gloves or mitts. Kit checks will take place at registration and at the finish.

There is no on-the-day entry. Racers may send a bag of warm layers up the gondola for the finish by dropping it at the gondola station during registration. After the race competitors can either use the gondola to return down or run down. If the gondola is not running, an alternative route to Tower 13 and back to the start will be used and presentation food will be served at the bottom station; otherwise presentation will be at the top station. Refreshments (soup, roll and hot drink) are provided for racers and marshals at the Snowgoose Cafe; competitors should show their race number.
