About the race
The Annaloughan Loop 10 km Trail Run is a single-distance trail event on the Cooley Peninsula, centred on an off-road loop with a total elevation gain of 240 m. The route combines runnable trail and natural terrain and includes notable views along the course.
Entries include a professionally measured and certified course, chip timing, a finisher’s medal, finish-line refreshments and a photowall. Water stations are provided at approximately 4.75 km and at the finish, with cups supplied. Toilets are available at the start/finish area and at about 4.75 km on the route.
Logistics at the event base (McCrystals Track, Jenkinstown, Dundalk, Co. Louth) include on-site parking and a bag drop beside the start/finish area that opens in the morning. The course has a strict three hour cut-off and the organisers advise participants to keep to cut-off times.
Race rules require runners to obey marshals and Gardaí, keep race numbers visible on the front of the running top, not accept outside assistance, and register and sign the waiver to participate. The event follows Athletics Ireland age guidance; the minimum age for the 10 km distance is 16 years. Refunds are not available. Entries can usually be transferred by official name change request before race numbers are allocated. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
