1st Annual Run for Resilience Ostomy 5K - Ann Arbor area
The event takes place in Dexter, Michigan at 8801 N. Territorial Road and marks the Run for Resilience Ostomy 5K in observance of Ostomy Awareness Day. The gathering is described as family friendly and includes local vendors, food, music and celebration. All proceeds benefit the United Ostomy Associations of America, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit; donations are tax deductible.

The running program includes two separate 5K divisions: an Open Division for males and females with age groups (19 and under; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70 plus), and an Ostomate Division with awards for the top three ostomates. Two kids races cover ages 5 and under, and ages 6 to 10. A volunteer opportunity is scheduled the day before the main event.
Entry fees are listed for each event and volunteer registration is free. Fundraising options are available: raising $150 or more leads to a refund of the registration fee; additional fundraising levels are noted at $250 and $450 with awards to be announced. A referral program offers a $20 refund when five other people register under a participant's referral.
