About the race
The Andy King Memorial 5K and Kids Run is the third annual community race held in Woodstock, Virginia, that benefits an agriculture scholarship for students in the Shenandoah Valley. The event includes in-person races at Massanutten Military Academy, 614 South Main Street, Woodstock VA 22664, and a separate virtual 5K option for remote participation.
Distances offered:
- 5K : 3.1 Miles
- Kids Run : 1 Mile (kids may walk or run between 1 and 4 laps)
- Virtual 5K : 3.1 Miles (run from any location)
Registration opens on July 12, 2026 for all race options. In-person registration for the 5K and Kids Run closes October 21, 2026; fees listed for those events are $30 for the 5K and $20 for the Kids Run. Virtual 5K registration closes October 2, 2026 and has a $40 fee; registrations received by the listed virtual deadline are eligible to receive a mailed race packet and shirt.
Additional event notes include on-site parking behind the track or available street parking, and packet pickup is available the morning before the event at the Massanutten Military Academy. The race and scholarship are held in memory of an agriculture industry leader and a Captain in the United States Army Reserves who died in the line of duty on November 2, 2023.
