About the race
The Amerongse Berg Trail is a paid trail running event organized from the Boshotel in Overberg on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. Routes run through forest, single tracks and open heather and pass notable local features such as the Eenzame Eik. The event offers marked courses, refreshments on the route and at the finish, and a GPX file that is sent to participants the Thursday before the event.
Distances and elevation gains:
- 12 km with about 100 m elevation gain
- 17 km with about 155 m elevation gain
- 21 km with about 260 m elevation gain
All courses are fully waymarked with arrows and tape. For the 12 km there is a supply point after 5 km, for the 17 km after 9 km and for the 21 km after 9 km; all distances have a refreshment point at the finish. There are no disposable cups provided so participants are asked to bring a personal racecup. Participants receive additional event information by email around one week before the event. The event capacity is limited and the organizer works together with land managers for approved routing through the nature area. A commemorative medal inspired by the Eenzame Eik is available as a separate purchase. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
