Amerongse Berg Trail
The Amerongse Berg Trail is a running event with routes through the forests and heath around Amerongen on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. The event starts at Boshotel in Overberg; the hotel provides a place for arrival and post-run hospitality. Routes run over single tracks and forest paths and pass characteristic locations such as the Eenzame Eik. The organisation coordinates the routes with the area managers.
The available distances are:
- 12 km (100D+) aid station after 5 km and at the finish
- 17 km (155D+) aid station after 9 km and at the finish
- 21 km (260D+) aid station after 9 km and at the finish
All routes are fully waymarked with arrows and tape. Elevation begins after the first kilometre. There are no disposable cups provided, so participants must use their own racecup. The GPX file is sent the Thursday before the event at 19:00 and participants receive an additional participant information email about one week before at around 10:00. Medals are available as an optional extra and the Amerongse Berg medal is inspired by De Eenzame Eik. The event has a defined maximum capacity and is not free to attend.
