America’s Finest City Half Marathon & 5K
The event takes place in San Diego on Sunday, August 16, 2026. The half marathon is a scenic, point-to-point course that begins at Cabrillo National Monument and travels through Historic Fort Rosecrans and Point Loma, along San Diego Bay and Harbor Island, past the Star of India, through downtown San Diego, and finishes in Balboa Park. The 5K is a fast, flat course through the heart of Balboa Park. Virtual options are offered for both the half marathon and the 5K.

Registration prices shown include processing fees: half marathon listed at $108.90 and 5K listed at $51.70. Entry includes a technical short-sleeve shirt, a finisher medal, a reusable souvenir grocery bag, a one-day pass to the Carlsbad Columbia Sportswear Company Employee Store, a finish line food bag, and complimentary beer in the beer garden. Additional event features include chip timing with live tracking, support stations along the route, a pre-race expo, and finish line amenities such as chocolate milk and a DJ. Team scoring is offered for the half marathon; teams must have at least ten people and two of each gender to qualify for scoring, which averages the top ten chip times per team.
