America's Finest City Half Marathon & 5K

The 49th annual America's Finest City Half Marathon & 5K takes place in San Diego on Sunday, August 16, 2026. The half marathon course starts at the Cabrillo National Monument atop the tip of Point Loma, continues along San Diego Bay, Harbor Island, and the Embarcadero, passes the Star of India, goes through downtown San Diego, and finishes in Balboa Park.

The 5K is a flat course through the heart of Balboa Park. Both in-person and virtual options are offered for the half marathon and the 5K.

Registered participants receive event items that include a technical fabric short-sleeve shirt, a finisher medal, a souvenir reusable grocery bag, a one-day pass to the invite-only Carlsbad Columbia Sportswear Employee Store, a finish line food bag, and access to a beer garden.
