Event Overview
The America's Finest City Half Marathon & 5K is an annual running event held in San Diego. The 2027 edition marks the 49th year of the competition. Participants can choose between several race formats:
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- Virtual Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- Virtual 5K (3.1 miles)
Course Details
The Half Marathon route begins at the Cabrillo National Monument at the tip of Point Loma. The course follows a path along the San Diego Bay and Harbor Island, passing the Embarcadero and the Star of India ship. Runners travel through downtown San Diego before reaching the finish line located in Balboa Park. The 5K race takes place entirely within Balboa Park on a course described as flat and fast.
Participant Amenities
Registered participants receive a technical fabric short-sleeve shirt and a finisher medal. The entry also includes a souvenir reusable grocery bag and a one-day pass to the Columbia Sportswear Employee Store in Carlsbad.
