America’s Finest City Half Marathon & 5K
The event is the 49th annual America’s Finest City Half Marathon & 5K held in San Diego. The half marathon course begins at Cabrillo National Monument on the tip of Point Loma and follows a route along San Diego Bay, Harbor Island, and the Embarcadero, passes the Star of India, continues through downtown San Diego, and finishes in Balboa Park.
A separate 5K course runs through Balboa Park and is described as a flat route within the park. Both in-person and virtual options are offered for the half marathon and the 5K.
Entry for participants includes a technical fabric short-sleeve shirt, a finisher medal, a souvenir reusable grocery bag, a one-day pass to the Carlsbad Columbia Sportswear Employee Store, a finish line food bag, and complimentary beer in the beer garden. An expo and packet pickup is held for bib and swag collection. Race weekend materials also cover parking and bus information, a finish line area map, and travel and accommodation details.
