America’s Finest City Half Marathon & 5K

The 49th annual America’s Finest City Half Marathon & 5K takes place in San Diego on Sunday, August 16, 2026. The half marathon course begins at Cabrillo National Monument atop the tip of Point Loma and follows a route along San Diego Bay, Harbor Island and the Embarcadero, passes the Star of India, continues through downtown San Diego and finishes in Balboa Park.

The 5K is a fast, flat course routed through the heart of Balboa Park. The event also offers virtual options for the half marathon and the 5K.

Entry for in person participants includes a technical fabric short sleeve shirt, a finisher medal, a reusable souvenir grocery bag, a one day pass to the Carlsbad Columbia Sportswear Employee Store, a finish line food bag and access to a beer garden. Additional event features listed by the organizer include an expo and a finish line festival.
