America’s Finest City Half Marathon & 5K
The event marks the 49th annual America's Finest City Half Marathon & 5K in San Diego on Sunday, August 16, 2026. The half marathon begins at the Cabrillo National Monument at the tip of Point Loma, continues along San Diego Bay and Harbor Island, follows the Embarcadero past the Star of India, moves through downtown San Diego, and finishes in Balboa Park.
The 5K follows a fast, flat course through the heart of Balboa Park. Both distance categories are also offered as virtual races.
Entry includes a technical short-sleeve shirt, a finisher medal, a reusable souvenir grocery bag, a one-day pass to the invite-only Carlsbad Columbia Sportswear Employee Store, a finish line food bag, and complimentary beer in the beer garden, among other race amenities.
